The Golden Dorsett Apple tree produces a medium sized, firm, and sweet apple that is perfect for eating fresh off the tree. The apples, a soft yellow with a pink blush, ripen in late June, and after picked, they can be kept for two weeks if refrigerated. It is one of a very small group of apple varieties that can flourish in tropical climates, because of its exceptionally low chilling requirement of less than 300 hours. The tree requires a pollinator for fruit set and is often paired with the Anna or the Ein Shemer apple. The Golden Dorsett Apple tree prefers full sun and slightly acidic soil. At maturity, the Golden Dorsett apple can reach a height and width of 10 ft. to 20 ft. It is hardy in USDA zones 6-9 and is shipped in a #5 pot with a minimum plant height of 24 inches.
