Perhaps William Morriss most recognizable design, Strawberry Thief, was inspired by the thrushes that crept under Morriss strawberry nets in his garden at Kelmscott Manor, Oxfordshire. The original pattern took several days to print using hand-carved woodblocks to build up the different colors and Strawberry Thief was consequently 1 of Morriss firms most expensive cottons. While waiting to see the first piece printed, Morris endured sleepless nights in his lodgings at Merton Abbey. Designed in 1883, Strawberry Thief remains one of William Morriss most popular and iconic designs. Strawberry Thief Plum features rich plum, rose and terracotta tones, brought out by accents of white and light greys, displaying a beautiful balance between light and dark that cant help but draw the eye. Printed on a matte finish, this wallpaper will have no problem adding effortless elegance to any room. Material: Vinyl.
