Designed in 1892, Blackthorn was originally block-printed and features white blackthorn (or sloe) blossoms and violets with meadow flowers of red snakes head fritillaries and yellow daisies. The flowers bloom from a lattice of curling foliage, leaves and stems in this iconic Morris pattern. Typical of Morris work, Blackthorn is a celebration of the beauty of nature. Blackthorn Plum contains a mixture of cranberry, mustard yellow and terracotta tones, accompanied by accents of light greys and peach, laid upon a rich plum background.
