Description Beer’s Black produces a medium size fruit and has that rich, sweet, buttery wholesomeness so sought after in a great fig. The fruit has a reddish-pink center and a violet exterior skin. Similar to Violette de Bordeaux, this is one of the best figs for eating and making preserves. Beer’s Black is self-pollinating and it produces an early breba crop in the spring and then another crop of figs in the fall. Remember to grow in full sun, well-drained soil and dry out between watering. An exceptional fig for drying, but especially for fresh eating. A lovely addition to your potted container collection or plant directly into the ground in your outdoor garden space in zones 7 to 10.
