Kieffer pears are large, hard pears that are great for cooking or for Winter storage. They are greenish-yellow with a red blush and are coarse, crisp and juicy. The pears ripen in mid fall. The tree requires 350 chill hours. It can self-pollinate or pollinate with the Orient Pear. Kieffer Pear trees are susceptible to blight. At maturity, it can reach a height between 15 ft. to 20 ft. and a width of 12 ft. to 15 ft.
