Red Creeping thyme is 1 of the best performing creeping ground covers. Featuring edible, aromatic, pink flowers from May to September which release their spicy fragrance when crushed underfoot. Delightful as an edging plant, it works perfectly tucked between the cracks of paving stones and walkways or allowed to spill over the sides of containers and herb baskets. Also useful as a drought tolerant lawn substitute. Divide in spring or fall by tearing apart the clumps into smaller pieces and replanting. This evergreen thyme thrives in average, well-drained soil. Full Sun to part Sun, 2 in. H, spread 18 in. to 30 in. hardy in zone 3, tolerates medium foot traffic.
